Knowledge Management
Upon nation-wide implementation of CBA-I Project, it was learnt that CBA methodology contributes to improvement in living condition of citizens, increase in trust and establishment of effective cooperation between communities and authorities. Community members working on community project realisation experience growth of self-reliance. A wealth of information and experience was generated during CBA-I which could benefit national/international development agencies, Ukrainian government, academia, practitioners and policy makers in course of implementing similar methodology and in case of seeking policy options.
Success on CBA-I Project is also reflected in the high demand for partnership and attempts of the replication of the methodology. CBA-II has vision to support methodology replication from its own side as well. However, the degree of sustainability of CBA results and the scale of replication of community based development methodology greatly depends upon accessibility of knowledge and expert / advisory support and the quality of information channeled between communities, authorities, business, experts and researchers. To this end following interventions (sub-activities) have been initiated during CBA-II:
Knowledge management hub:
To meet the huge demand for information and experience related with CBA, a knowledge management hub has been established at Ukrainian Association of District and Regional Councils (UADRC) to ensure that the repository is locally owned and managed. The hub is designed to focus on collecting, systematizing and disseminating the existing knowledge (best practices, policy matters, legal matters, data base etc.) on community based approach to local sustainable development, decentralised self-governance.

Curriculum, teaching and training:
CBA-II supports universities and training institutes to promote the idea of community based local development and sustainable development among the university graduates, civil servants and elected officials through curriculum and re-training. Activities under this component include curriculum development, training/teaching modules development, small research, internship, training and exposure visits involving students/trainees and teachers/trainers. Twenty universities and National Academy of Public Administration have partnered with CBA to achieve this objective. Details can be viewed in the Project Reports
Knowledge sharing:
CBA documents experience generated at local level through independent assessment and professional studies. The documentations appear in form of report and video and are placed at website for wider public sharing. Besides, CBA hosts national/international visitors who want to learn about CBA methodology and the results. CBA staffs also share the experience in conferences, seminars, roundtables. Policy recommendation:
CBA supports policy studies that generate policy recommendations based on grassroots level realities. Results of this sub-activity can be viewed in the Project reports
