On 30 March 2012, the first meeting of the working group on rural economic develoment was organized in the UN House. Formed under initiative of the EU - UNDP Community Based Approach to Local Development Project (CBA), the group first gathered to discuss best patterns for the synergy of action under the new component of CBA - that is on rural economic development through promotion and support of agriculture and service cooperatives.

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders and practiotioners in the are, including from the Ministry of Agricultural Policy, Institute of Prognosis and Forecasting of the Academy of Schience of Ukraine, Union of Agricultural service cooperatives, State Fund for Farm Support, Association of Farmers and Private Landowners and several specialised universities etc.
