Background

3 positions of Intern

The UNDP internship programme offers an outstanding graduate-level student the opportunity to acquire direct exposure to UNDP's work with the objective of deepening his/her knowledge and understanding of UNDP’s goals, principles and activities. It is designed to complement development-oriented studies with practical experience in various professional aspects.  Interns are not financially remunerated by UNDP.

Under the overall guidance of the Community Based Approach to Local Development Project, and direct supervision of the Community Development Specialist/ Communication and Monitoring Specialist, the Intern provides the assistant support to Project activities.


Duties and Responsibilities

Under overall supervision of Community Development Specialist, the incumbent should perform the following functions:

  • Assist in documents preparation;
  • Maintain files and folders related with activities of the community development unit;
  • Provide support in oral and written translation of documents;
  • Collect and research of information on various thematic issues, including political affairs, socio-economic development, and human rights.
  • Support in compilation of background materials for analytical briefs, information notes, and letters on various topics related to the CBA project operation;
  • Support to organization of events and meetings by preparing, distributing and coordinating invitations, drafting background materials;
  • Provide other support to the project units.

  • The assistance support to the Project is provided on time and with high quality.

  • Remains calm, in control and good humoured even under pressure
  • Diplomatic skills.

  • Required Skills and Experience

    Education:

    Enrollment in a degree programme in Management, Economics, Social Science, International Relations or related field, in a graduate school at the time of application and during the internship; or have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree, if pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages.

    Experience:

  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.);
  • Experience in handling of web-based management systems.
  • Language Requirements:

    Fluency in Ukrainian/Russian and English
