Winners of all-Ukrainian competition Every Drop Matters chosen

On 6 April 2009 the selection committee assessed 24 applications of the 2nd round participants of all-Ukrainian competition EveryDrop Matters held by UNDP Ukraine and trademark Bonakva, and determined the winners.

According to the criteria mentioned below 14 projects from Luhanska (2), Donetska (1), Mykolaivska (2), Kirovogradska (1), Vinnytska (1), Sumska (1), Ternopilska (1), Ivano-Frankivska (1), Chernigivska (1), Zhytomirska (1), Rivnenska (1) and Lvivska (1) oblasts were chosen. Criteria of community projects evaluation:


1)   Method of source use after renovation (fresh water, the source is arranged as a resting-place for wide use by different categories of citizens – 3; fresh water, excess to the source is limited – 2; water is not considered fresh, confirmation is absent - 1);


2)   Characteristics of resources mobilization (50% or more is financed by the community and other counterparts but UNDP – 3; 40-50% of community and other partners financing - 2; community and counterparts finance is less than 40% - 1);


3)   Direct participation of community in future work for water source renovation (community is going to take active part in water source renovation – 3; less active position – 2; passive position – 0);


4)   Project vitality (take on balance sheet – 3; confirmation is absent - 0);

Attraction of school community (active participation of school community – 3; insufficient information concerning school community attraction – 1; no school community attraction - 0)
