On 18 February 2010 Zaporizka oblast state administration and oblast council initiated regular meeting of CBA Oblast Coordination Council on project implementation

In Buimer village, Trostyanetsky rayon on 12 February 2010 parents, teachers and pupils did not restrain their joy, as their school received a new school bus! The bus was procured thanks to participation of local community in joint EU/UNDP Community Based Approach to Local Development (CBA) Project.

In frames of the CBA Project realization RSA, RC and active communities from Vasylivska, Maiorivska, Myrnenska, Kaharlytska, Kamyanytska and Sekretarivska village councils jointly solve social problems of settlements in Bilyaivsky rayon, Odeska oblast.

Luhansk, 22 January - In framework of cooperation between CBA Project with Luhanska and Kharkivska oblasts, a study tour was organized for a delegation from Kharkivska oblast to Luhansk with the aim to familiarize representatives from local administrations and activists of community organizations of Kharkivska oblast with best practices of community based initiatives in Luhansk region.

Luhansk, 20 January - meeting of Oblast Coordination Council was held in Luhansk with the participation of deputy head of OSA V. Kryvulya, deputies from oblast council and heads of rayon state administrations to discuss the status and perspectives of CBA Project implementation.

Ternopil, 23 December 2009 - Local partners of the CBA Project summed up results of joint cooperation on development of local communities and heard the report on the Project activities at the OCC meeting. Participants of the meeting (about 130 people) included representatives from partners of all levels that cooperate for community development and strengthening local self-governance in Ternopilska oblast. Meeting was attended by deputy head of OSA Andriy Flissak, head of OC apparatus Ihor Duleba, representatives from pilot rayon councils and rayon state administrations, as well as representatives from all 49 partner communities and village councils.

In Novovodolazky rayon, 2 repaired schools in Fedorivka and Melykhivka villages are going to be enaugurated on 22 December 2009. Repair of the schools was co-financed by EU/UNDP CBA Project, communities’ inputs and local budgets, while the works were planned and supervised by local community organizations.

Each oblast of Ukraine will receive additional quota of micro-projects to be implemented within the framework of CBA Project. Thus, with support of local executive bodies/ bodies of local self-governance and the CBA Project, communities will be able to realize more initiatives to improve living conditions in their settlements.

Yerkivtsi, Kyiv Region, 3 December: For many years Yerkivtsi villagers have been suffering from disruption of water supply due to pipe-leaks. Unable to solve this problem on their own expense, in summer 2008 the local village community eagerly applied to participate in a joint EU-funded and UNDP-led Community Based Approach to Local Development Project. A year on the community celebrated the completion of the village water supply system repairs

Holding the thirteens session of Cherkaska oblast council on 27 Novemebr 2009, deputies have examined the process of realization of joint EU/ UNDP Community Based Approach to Local Development (CBA) Project in Cherkaska oblast. As of today under the auspices of oblast authorities the Project has been successfully realized by rural communities in 8 selected rayons. The majority of community initiatives has already received the first trance from the Project and rayon budgets, as well as they have attracted funds from communities and local business and started to realize their micro-projects that will improve local social and economic climate in the settlement.
