The overal goal of the delegation of foreign partners and donors visit to Crimea is to discuss the achieved results and define long-term sustainable and effective solutions for social and economic problems and overal human development challenges faced by the multi-ethnic population of Crimea.

On 15 November, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission in Ukraine, Ambassador Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira visited community of Shabo (Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district of Odessa region), participating in EU/UNDP Community Based Approach to Local Development Project.

On 30 October first Partnership agreements were signed between community organizations (CO) Omega-2008, Vodograi – Nova Derevnya, Nove Zhyttya and Community Based Approach to Local Development (CBA) Project. Representatives of Pervomaiska rayon administration and rayon council, heads of Hryshynska, Krestyanivska, and Pervomaiska village councils were present at the signing of agreements.

On 4 November in Press Centre of Cherkaska Oblast State Administration press conference presenting results of selection of rayon competition and announcement of rayons-winners was held. Deputy head of oblast council V.V. Pavlichenko, head of international affairs and European integration sector M.O. Kulyk and community development assistant in Cherkaska oblast N.V. Belyukina answered the questions of regional mass media.

On 16 October 20008 in Rohatynsky rayon Ivano-Frankivska oblast the first rayon Local Development Forum (LDF) was held in the framework of the Community Based Approach to Local Development (CBA) Project. It was aimed at getting help in the Project implementation, creation of conditions for sustainable development principles realization in the rayon and more active attraction of population, representatives of institutions, agencies, and business organizations to carry out dialogues with local authorities. In long-term perspective regular meetings of Local Development Forums favour elaboration of transparent and effective mechanisms of planning on the local level and participation of citizens in management.

Kyiv, 9 October: An EU-funded and UNDP-led Project "Community-based Approach to Local Development" has held its first Board Meeting to sum up the activities performed over the past year and discuss further cooperation prospects. 

On 23-24 September a training for 35 Project coordinators from rayon state administrations of 8 oblasts, namely, Luhanska, Poltavska, Ivano-Frankivska, Lvivska, Ternopilska, Zhytomyrska, Volynska, and Rivnenska oblasts was held in Sarny town Rivnenska oblast.

On 3-4 September training for Oblast Implementation Units teams of joint EU/UNDP Community Based Approach to Local Development (CBA) Project was held. Participants of the training included 46 coordinators from all 25 regional offices of the CBA Project that will be oblast community resource centres in future.
